The Resort Town
of Ross Bridge

Alabama
A town is much more than a collection of homes and businesses. A town has a pulse and an identity of its own. A feeling that you are somewhere. A place different and unique. The best towns come grow organically for the personality of its people and place. But, they all have common attributes–diverse inhabitants, businesses to support daily life, opportunity and activity. In placemaking today, you may be able to speed up the evolution of a town but you cannot force the attributes that make it come together. That’s why you have to lay the right foundation and help foster it along.

CALL IT HOME

In 2002, this site was located literally on the wrong side of the tracks with an active rail line running straight through the property. The team at Daniel Communities took inspiration from the blueprint of the iconic American Resort Towns of the late 1800s, which were borne from railway expansion, and envisioned a diverse residential community built around a resort-core of championship golf and luxurious hotel and spa facilities. This vision attracted the Retirement Systems of Alabama to develop the AAA four-diamond Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa. (See This Property)

Daniel Communities’ pioneering effort to bring a destination resort community plan to a primary residential market drew nationwide acclaim including recognition by the National Homebuilder Association as the Best Community in America.

  • Ownership dates to 1858, when a Carolinian named James Taylor Ross was so struck by the beauty of the Oxmoor Valley, he settled here to farm and raise his family.
  • Partnership between USS Real Estate and Daniel Communities.
